Worst service. I placed a LARGE order way back in April and recieved all in a very timely manner considering the virus times. Had to return just a couple of items, kept four and asked for exchange on 3. It is now almost end of May and I've sent 3 inquires through email as suggested with no response until today and now refund instead of exchange. I have ordered from Macys, Chicos during this time with excellent service so have to say Soft Surroundings is just the worst. First time ordering and last. You would think with such a large order they would do their best to keep a customer.

Was great, lately, not so much!

I love most of the Soft Surroundings clothing, especially as a tall woman (5'11''), but (!) recently the online customer service representatives are far less than helpful and seem impatient and bored with my concerns. Good customer service is so important because our local SS store recently closed, so shipping and returns are more important than ever. This was my go-to for clothing, to the tune of hundreds of dollars each year, but now. I'm less than thrilled and will look for other alternatives.

Terrible lipstick, worst customer service

I purchased 2 lipsticks in store (not close to home) I emailed customer service with my displeasure and received an automated reply someone would contact me. Never did, so called customer service,was told they can't do anything unless it is an order, and then hung up on me. I have been a good customer, but never more!

Why the delay in shipping?

I have purchased many items from Soft Surroundings over the years. Order placed 9/25/20 a as Nd just received a shipped order on10/19/20. Item was said to be in stock when ordered. No explanation given for length of time filling this order. It has been slow, but a definite customer service decline over time.

I just recently returned a dress

I just recently returned a dress. First of all the photo of the dress on the website and the dress in the reality was different by shade of the color. But the most important in my review that the return policy of Soft Surroundings is absolutely terrible!!
The Company charges you not for return label only which is $7.95 but they shamelessly charging shipping fees which is $9.95. as well.
So if you need to return the item make sure that you will be dealing with greedy, unscrupulous people.

For the past several years I see…

For the past several years I see beautiful garments in the catalogs but low quality (for prices) delivered to my house. It didn’t used to be this way with this company. Classic bait and switch schemes recently.

For my last purchase I posted a negative review. Soft surroundings did not post it. That’s why I’m here. Be careful and buy big sale. The quality is not worth the price and you can’t trust the reviews anymore.

Quality and Shine no longer there!

I have been an online customer of Soft Surroundings got about 20 years. It has always been my go to store. In the past I could rely on them for high quality, fashionable, well designed clothing and outstanding customer service.. Clothing arrived in excellent condition and in a timely manner. Clothes were packaged with care between tissue paper. However, all that has changed. The clothes are now way over priced for the design and quality. I have returned all my orders in the past year. My last dress arrived with creases and wrinkles. When I wrote a negative review, ( which was not published), a rep said I could return it free of charge, however, I WAS charged. I can buy better quality clothing in local discount stores. It is obvious that a new management team has taken over.

There is no indication what so ever as WHERE the clothes are manufactured.
A brand who is willing to share WHERE their products are made is an ETHICAL brand. Apparently soft surroundings and chicos is NOT!!

I have shopped SS for over 15 years

I have shopped SS for over 15 years! The sizes are hit and miss. The guality is mostly acceptable. However, I placed an order on 4-10-20, returned several items and requested an exchange. I have called and emailed over 20 times in the last few days to find out the status of my order. When I complete the email process / it simply says oops , something went wrong. The phones are not being answered and email is the only option( that doesn’t work). Definitely not happy with this negligence on their part of Customer Care.

The worst customer service I ever…

The worst customer service I ever received. I placed a phone order because I was not able to submit a form of payment online.Several mistakes were made during the ordering process. I called and spoke with two customer service representatives about these mistakes. Both were rude and more concerned with excusing and defending the mistakes made than with making me a satisfied customer. I will never make another purchase with this company even though I like the clothing.

I have always loved soft surroundings clothes. Sadly I ordered something online and never received it. They keep telling me to wait a few more day because mail takes a while. It’s been over a month, it doesn’t take that long. Having to file a dispute with PayPal.

No product received, nothing but apologies!!

I placed an order June 4, 2017, today is June 17, 2017 and I have not received my order. I notified Soft Surroundings June 14, 2017and I was told that they would expedite my order in 2 days. Worst customer service! I do not recommend buying anything from Soft Surroundings ever.

Will not refund my returns.

I have sent several email messages requesting they refund my 2 items and no response. I find it strange they are certainly able to ship the items but on return items can't process the refund. What's going on Soft Surroundings.

Sizing/high pricing. disappointing!

The clothing is not the quality it used to be. The sizing has been off on many things I've received.
At this point, I find, especially in the most recent catalogs, the prices to be extremely high. I will not be purchasing anything full price in the future.

Soft Surroundings is NOT using FedEx as claimed

So insanely slow! They're shipping FedEx, but after a month I checked with FedEx and it turns out they're passing shipments out over to the United States Post Office.

The USPS is the reason we're paying higher prices to send!!

Postage and handling exorbitant + non-refundable

Postage is high $17.95 and portions of P&H are nonfundable. It cost me $21 just to try on items -- good, high-quality fabrics -- that did not fit. The $20 gift certificate I had did not apply to postage. I am not going to pay $21 for the privilege of a try-on. It's too great a risk. The customer service rep was courteous, but she does not set company policy.

Too bad they don’t read emails.

I have emailed the company to voice a concern about my recent purchases. I have received no response. The sad thing is. I like their style and sizing. The quality and price are the problem. I have a store within driving distance of me and I have frequented it. I won’t waste my time anymore. I must say, “goodbye Soft Surroundings, hello Creation L”

Not As Satisfying as a Shopping Experience Should Be

I don't have any major beefs with Soft Surroundings, but I do agree with several other reviewers on a few points: 1) Prices are ridiculous for the quality; I only order sale items, and many of them are still too expensive, 2) Shipping costs are also ridiculous, and it's hard for me to imagine how they compete with other online retailers. Free shipping is expected nowadays. Numbers 1 and 2 make me feel guilty for ordering, rather than feeling like I was a smart shopper and got good deals. That's not how anyone wants to feel when shopping. Bad psychology. 3) Some items aren't as pictured, and 4) Sizing can be hit or miss. I do enjoy their catalogs, which are very well produced, and I get ideas from them that I use in putting together clothing I already have. They have a unique vibe and you won't see yourself coming and going in their clothes. I just wish they would get their act together, and I probably won't order much until and if they do.
